RNBlocks vs Base44

Compare Base44’s published web app and store wrapper with RNBlocks’ React Native interface and release workflow.

Base44 has documented mobile and app-store workflows. The meaningful distinction is what runs inside the installed app and how you maintain it, rather than whether either tool can reach a store.

On this page

Base44’s app-store route uses a web view

Base44’s store guide describes generating store files around a published Base44 app. The installed app loads that experience in a web view. The guide also covers store preparation and optional push notification setup.

Its mobile guide separately covers using a published app in a mobile browser and adding it to the home screen. These are different delivery routes; choose the one you intend to offer before testing.

RNBlocks creates React Native screens

RNBlocks builds a React Native interface that you edit in Studio and try in native preview. Connectors provide configured services for the app. Release preparation continues in Publish, including app identity, listing drafts, screenshots and reviewed build work.

The native framework does not automatically provide every device feature or make an app work offline. Confirm the specific behavior you need in the running app and intended build.

Test the architecture, not just the frame

Run the same customer journey from a cold launch through its saved result. Compare the observed behavior with your requirements.

CheckWhy it matters

Navigation and keyboard

A phone frame around a page does not establish how back actions, safe areas or forms behave.

Connectivity

Identify what happens when the network is slow or unavailable, and what is actually stored on the device.

Device features

Try the required camera, notifications or other capability on a real phone.

Updates

Understand which changes update the live experience and which require another store build.

Check what export includes

Base44’s mobile guide distinguishes exported code and data from managed hosting, authentication and database infrastructure. Include that distinction in a migration plan.

For RNBlocks, inspect both the exported app and the external services it needs. Downloaded code does not move provider accounts or their data. If you already have a store listing, preserve its identifier and signing requirements when considering any replacement implementation.
